WAW Co-founders, Fahima Danishgar and Sunita Mehta, kick off WAW's debut conference

Dr. Riffat Hassan, Gloria Steinem and Eleanor Smeal on the role of the US Women's Movement

The two-day conference, WAW's debut event , showcased the voices of Afghan women leaders in finding just and meaningful solutions for their nation and the world.

The conference traced the history of women's rights and roles in Afghanistan for the past thirty years, examined the crisis in governance and human rights in Afghanistan, and brought together key voices to put forward realistic and visionary solutions for post-war Afghanistan.

This conference will be an annual event.
