International Women's Day

WAW celebrated International Women's Day by coordinating an event called "An Afternoon of Afghan Culture" in Flushing, Queens.

The event showcased some of Afghan culture to the the public though dance, song and readings from WAW's book, Women for Afghan Women: Shattering Myths and Claiming the Future.

The day also included a slide show of School of Hope given by Zolaykha Sherzad, WAW Board Member and a founder of School of Hope (a beneficiary of WAW's fundraising).
