Over the summer, WAW in partnership with Bread and Roses organized a photography project, Unseen America in our office in Flushing.
Our participation in Unseen America will have a number of important benefits to WAW’s members and constituents. We expect that involving women in taking pictures of their everyday lives will empower them to change their lives for the better. The exhibit will help to dissolve myths and stereotypes about Afghan women, who are largely "unseen" beyond their domestic environments
The photographs will be available for purchase. All of the proceeds will benefit the Afghan woman who took the picture.
