Women for Afghan Women
Press Release
9-15-01
Women for Afghan Women wishes to express our deepest sympathies to everyone who has been affected by these crimes. We believe that these crimes are not only committed against the American people but also against the whole of humanity.
We urge the world Community to unite in the struggle against these inhuman acts of terrorism, carried out by individuals, or groups against humanity. Islam does not condone violence. Even when at war, Muslim soldiers are forbidden to kill women, a child or an old person. Attacks against innocent civilians are clearly anything but Islamic. Afghanistan is a nation that has sought freedom and civility for decades. Now it has received the title of "Terrorist nation".
I hope the U.S. Government and American people realize that the people of Afghanistan have been terrorized themselves and kept hostage for years. Afghan women and children have been victims of war and brutal governmental force for the past 22 years. Our condolences go to those who are affected everywhere. We ask God to bestow patience and perseverance on the families of the innocent victims and bring the perpetrators to justice. We Muslim Americans and Afghan Americans stand united with our grieving nation.
