Philanthropy is central to advancing our mission and ensuring that Afghan women and girls have access to safety, justice, and opportunity. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our event committees to help plan and support fundraising events throughout the year. 

Additionally, your creativity can make a real difference. Whether you host a small gathering, organize a community event, or take on a personal challenge, you can fundraise in a way that feels authentic to you while helping Afghan women and girls get access to safety, justice, and support. We’ll provide the tools and guidance you need and stand alongside you every step of the way.

At this time, our staff and storage capacity are limited, so all in-kind donations require prior approval. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community and welcome new items that directly support families, including clothing, toys for all ages, diapers, blankets, kitchen and household essentials, personal hygiene items, and school supplies.

We also provide weekly food distributions to families and rely on volunteers to help receive donated produce and food. To ensure safety and dignity for the families we serve, all food donations must be approved in advance before drop-off.

Volunteers play an essential role in advancing our work with Afghan women, girls, and families, and we deeply value those who are willing to share their skills and time.

Opportunities at our community centers in Queens, NYC and Alexandria, Virginia include assisting with job placement and career readiness, resume writing, program facilitation, and supporting entrepreneurs as they launch and grow new businesses.

Volunteers also provide critical support to our caseworkers and paralegals by assisting with administrative and program-related tasks, as well as offering group or one-on-one English tutoring to families.

We are always grateful for volunteers who want to share their skills in support of Afghan women, girls, and families.

We welcome volunteers with grant writing experience, and with creative and communications expertise, such as graphic designers, writers, storytellers, content creators, and photographers or videographers, who can help us amplify the voices of the communities we serve.
