At WAW, we Invest in HER by striving to inspire Hope, Empowerment, and Resilience through our programs and mission across Afghanistan and the U.S. by providing HER with opportunities in Health, Education, and Resettlement.
And this May, we are proud to launch our Invest in HER campaign.
Why this campaign matters now
The Afghan women and children who have come through our doors, and those who haven’t found us just yet, are at the heart of this powerful campaign. Our investment in HER reaches to every corner of our communities with the dream of women and children leading empowered and dignified lives.
Afghan women and girls continue to face unimaginable challenges, from being denied access to education in Afghanistan to navigating displacement and resettlement in new countries. Despite these obstacles, their resilience and determination to lead, learn, and live with dignity remain resolute.

A Message from our Executive Director
WAW’s comprehensive services and programs offer support across three core HER pillars: Health, Education, and Resettlement. Whether through safe housing, trauma-informed counseling, English language classes, or workforce development, our services are designed to empower Afghan women and families to reclaim control over their futures.
“The Invest in HER campaign is not just about funding,” said Dr. Susan Aryan Antolin, Executive Director of WAW. “It’s about a total investment in creating real change in the lives of Afghan women and families. Through this campaign, we are ensuring that every woman and child we serve has access to the resources, education, and community support she needs to shape her own future.”
Invest in HER is who we are as a community. Our dedication to each other and to provide for each other is woven into who we are. Together we honor HER hope, celebrate HER empowerment, and uplift HER resilience.
